The HSE is to prosecute the present Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, Sir John Stevens and the previous Commissioner, Lord Condon, for safety breaches it says contributed to workplace deaths. The prosecution follows a lengthy investigation into whether the Metropolitan Police has sufficiently protected police officers from the dangers of falling from or through roofs whilst assisting in the apprehension of suspects.
