Two new regulatory changes will soon be having an impact on the way building managers provide access to disabled customers, employees and visitors. Section III of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 comes into force on 1 October 1999. From this date, building managers - including contracted service providers - should have revised all policies, practices and procedures if these might make it impossible or unreasonably difficult for disabled people to use those services.
