The Information Commissioner has now released the first part of The Employment Practices Data Protection Code which is intended to help businesses achieve compliance with the Data Protection Act in relation to the processing and storage of employee records.

This part of the Code deals with the collection, processing and use of data arising from the recruitment of applicants and the selection of employees.
