As members are no doubt aware, Monday 3 June is an extra bank holiday this year to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee – but are employees entitled to an extra day’s paid leave for it?
ACAS - the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service - is giving the following advice:
- Employees do not have a statutory right to take bank holidays off – normal nor Jubilee
- Check contracts of employment. This should state one of the following:
