An NHS Manager was yesterday awarded record damages after a Yorkshire health trust was deemed to have discriminated against her on the grounds of her age. The Leeds Employment Tribunal awarded Linda Sturdy the maximum damages of £33,500 for injury to feelings over the age discrimination and a further £5,700 in aggravated damages. This is the highest award to date for injury to feelings for any act of discrimination in the UK.
