Compulsory retirement at 65 must be justified, says EAT

Partners in a business can be forced to retire at 65, or at an earlier age, but only when justification is given for the business' policy, the Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT) has ruled.

A case awaits judgment from the European Court of Justice on whether employees can be forced to retire at 65.
