One in six Government buildings received the lowest possible energy efficiency rating in an ongoing audit, according to figures published by the Guardian.
Nearly half of the public buildings tested so far have been given the lowest three energy efficiency ratings of E, F or G.
The figures also revealed that public premises emit 11 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
Ironically, the offices of the department of energy and climate change received a G rating for its 1,336 annual tonnes... (89 more words)
