UK death-rate inequalities revealed

Four times as many north-east cleaners and labourers aged 25 to 64 died in between 2001 and 2003 than south-eastern managers and professionals, according to an Office for National Statistics report.

It shows that in between 2001 and 2003, men in such routine occupations in the North East had the highest death rate, at 699 per 100,000, of all socio-economic groups and regions in England and Wales.
