REACH “could be hazardous for small businesses”

Firms must record any of the hazardous substances they buy, sell or use under the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals regulation (REACH) by 1 December 2008, when the pre-registration period closes. If they fail to register by this date, they will be forced to cease manufacturing and importing chemicals until they have signed up.
