The claimant was employed first by a company established in France and subsequently by a company in the same group established in the United Kingdom.

He was dismissed, by the UK company, and in an action brought in France against the two companies, in which he claimed various sums for wrongful dismissal and breach of contract, he maintained that the French courts had jurisdiction over the second company by virtue of article 6(1) of Council Regulation (EC) No 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the ...
