The owners of an adventure centre where a girl died on one of its outdoor activities have been fined £16,000 by a Scottish court for failing to ensure her safety.
The Abernethy Trust was the organiser of an adventure holiday at Barcaple in the Galloway Forest Park which went seriously wrong. Schoolgirl Laura McDairmant, from Carlisle, died after she fell onto protruding rocks when jumping 30ft into a deep water pool at the foot of a gorge.
