A shop owner has reportedly dismissed workers via text message, an hour before they were due to start work.
Eight staff at Harmony hair studios in St Annes were made redundant.
The salon's three stylists, one junior stylist, three juniors and a receptionist received the first of two messages at 7.30am last Wednesday.
The first message read: "The shop will not be open today. All your wages will be covered by the Government. I will be in a meeting today
