In Kulkarni v. Milton Keynes Hospital National Health Trust, Mr Kulkarni was a doctor accused by a patient of inappropriately examining her. The Trust suspended him and following an investigation commenced disciplinary proceedings.
He was entitled to be accompanied at a disciplinary hearing by a companion who was not acting in a legal capacity. The Trust rejected a request from Mr Kulkarni that he be legally represented at the hearing.
