Public bodies should be made to promote equality between faiths under a new religious discrimination law, a government whip has proposed.
In a pamphlet published by think tank The Fabian Society, Tooting MP Sadiq Khan has called for provisions against religious discrimination to be included in the Single Equality Bill.
Mr Khan says that a new approach to citizenship will be unsuccessful unless a new approach is adopted by the Government to reconnect British Muslims with the mainstream issue... (311 more words)
