On the first anniversary of the introduction of smoking restrictions in workplaces and public places in England (1 July), the TUC has said that the ban's success is because the law change was backed by strong, simple regulation, and its success will lead to the lives of 700 workers being saved every year.
The latest compliance statistics show that out of the 73,690 premises inspected between January and April 2008, 98.1% were identified as being compliant in regards to people not smoking on ... (344 more words)
