Veterans' Day: the new bank holiday?

Veteran’s Day, which takes place on 27 June, may become the extra bank holiday organisations such as the TUC have been asking for, it was revealed this week.

In a written answer, Derek Twigg, Under Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans at the Ministry of Defence, said that although there have been no formal representations on making the day a national bank holiday it is being looked at:
