The owners of a restaurant who were found guilty of flouting the smoking ban aim for Bradford to have the first legitimate shisha pipe lounge in the north of England.
Syima Merali, co-owner of Markaz Restaurant and Shisha Lounge in Centenary Square, has applied for planning permission to build a pavilion outside it where people can smoke using water pipes.
She said it was vital for the business to find a way to allow people to continue smoking shisha.
