Government targets published to improve construction sector

New targets for the construction industry to improve health and safety, simplify regulations and reduce waste have been announced by the Government this week.

Among the aims in Strategy for Sustainable Construction is a Government commitment to simplifying the regulations facing businesses. It says:

"Better regulation is about striking the right balance between regulation and protection without disproportionately increasing costs or deterring compliance.”
