In one of the first legal challenges to the smoking ban, High Court judges have ruled that patients should not be allowed to smoke indoors at a high security psychiatric hospital.
Three patients at Rampton hospital in Nottinghamshire had argued that a ban on them smoking “in the privacy of their own home” was a violation of their human rights, but the judges ruled that any interference with their rights was justified.
