An appeals court has overturned the conviction of head teacher, James Porter, for health and safety breaches following the death of a child who jumped off steps at the private Hillgrove School in Bangor.
The nursery pupil Kian Williams jumped from the steps and received head injuries in summer 2004, which became infected with MRSA and led to his death.
As the proprietor for the school, Porter was also the employer and as such was responsible for health and safety matters. The initial ruling... (194 more words)
