The Public Sector Buildings (Energy Performance) Bill has now had its second reading in Parliament. If successful this bill will require all buildings acquired by a minister of the crown for his department to have an energy efficiency rating of A or B.
The ratings, which work in the same way as those found on fridges and cookers, provide a standard system on which all buildings can be compared. A and B are the most efficient of these ratings.
