A new law providing protection against incitement to hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation should impose no further requirements on employers.
The Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill extends existing legal protection against inciting racial and religious hatred to protect lesbian and gay people. Jonathan Finney, senior parliamentary officer at campaign group Stonewall, explained to Workplace Law Network the circumstances in which this new Bill may apply to the workplace:
