In an ideal world the draft Code of Practice on discipline and grievance would be read by all employers, the ACAS Chief Executive has said.
Speaking in an interview with Workplace Law Network, John Taylor conceded that it is unreasonable to expect smaller businesses to understand nuances behind the Code, but felt the Code should be read because it goes further than just dealing with problems encountered in the workplace:
