Seventy-seven per cent of employers believe alcohol is the number one threat to employee wellbeing and a big source of employee absence, according to a survey conducted by Norwich Union Healthcare.
This concern is not shared by the employees though, as only 9% agree with it.
Employers concerns are not unfounded as a third of employees said they have arrived at work with a hangover and of those, 85% confirmed it affects their performance and mood.
