Musculo-skeletal problems of the arm, hand, shoulder and neck can be found across a broad range of work activities. These are properly referred to as work-related upper limb disorders (WRULDs). Often, especially where pain in the arm occurs among computer users, some forms of WRULD are referred to as repetitive strain injury (RSI). This can be confusing because RSI is not a medical diagnosis. For clarity and to avoid confusion, only WRULDs will be referred to in this factsheet.
