Manager sacked while suffering from cancer wins unfair dismissal claim

A GP practice manager sacked while recovering from a rare form of throat cancer has won a big payout from his former bosses.

Doctors 'created' reasons to dismiss Charles Jones from his job running Ibstock Surgery, near Ashby.

The 58-year-old, who represents Linton on South Derbyshire District Council, won his case for unfair dismissal at an employment tribunal last week.
