The average smoker will spend almost a year of their working career on ciggie breaks, a survey claims.
Most satisfy their nicotine craving by taking three 15-minute breaks a day.
That means 195 working hours a year - or 8,677.5 hours during the average puffer's working lifetime of 44.5 years.
And the smoking ban has made things even worse - because now more staff have to stop work and go farther before they can light up, meaning they spend even more time away from their desks.
