HSE focus on back injuries at work

Musculoskeletal conditions and back problems will be the focus of the European Week for Safety and Health (16-23 October). This type of injury is the main cause of ill health in British industry. The HSC estimate that nearly 650,000 in the UK believe that they suffer from a musculoskeletal problem caused by work. They also estimate that, in one year, 4.8m working days were lost costing employers between £315m and £335m. Each sufferer took an average of 11 days off.The scale of the problem i...
