An Employment Tribunal has ruled that a group of workers at an engineering firm who were sacked by telephone were unfairly dismissed.
In total, 79 workers lost their jobs after Laurence Scott & Electromotors, a UK-based manufacturer of electric motors, hit financial difficulties.
After taking control of the struggling business, administrators Kroll dismissed the staff by phone while it sought a buyer for the firm.
