South Tyneside peer Lord Don Dixon quoted the Gazette in a House of Lords debate this week about a compensation battle by asbestos victims.
Lord Dixon's comments came after we reported that the Scottish Parliament is bidding to introduce legislation to again give pleural plaque victims compensation.
Ex-shipyard worker Fred Hewitt, who has lived with pleural plaques for several years, believes there should not be different legislation covering workers in England and Scotland.
