In Royal Bank of Scotland v Bevan [2007] the EAT upheld a tribunal's decision to extend the time limit in a claim for unfair dismissal, in circumstances where the claimant was only informed of the outcome of his appeal a few hours before the expiry of the normal time limit.
Facts
Mr Bevan was dismissed by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) for alleged gross misconduct on 12 January 2007. Mr Bevan appealed against his dismissal and the appeal hearing was held on 8 March 2007.
