UK meeting EU WEEE targets

THE UK is meeting its European targets for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), provisional figures from the Environment Agency have suggested. 

The collection data for the first three months of the new producer responsibility system for WEEE shows old appliances being collected at a rate higher than the initial target of 4kg of WEEE per capita per year.
