The HSE has published the latest results concerning the costs to Britain of workplace accidents and work related ill health. The figures, which relate back to 1995/96, represent national levels by which individual companies can be compared. The total cost to employers of accidents and ill health is estimated at £3.5bn to £7.3bn, which is equivalent to 4% - 8% of the gross trading profit of all UK businesses.
