Still no more news on the European initiative to ban the use of white asbestos. When a ban does come into effect it will almost certainly put a stop to the vast majority of uses of white asbestos in new buildings, as well as putting an end to the second-hand market for asbestos. Existing white asbestos will not have to be removed, but the ban is likely to increase the cost of sheeting and repairs.
