Wine company fined for packaging offences

On 22 October 2007, Western Wines Limited of Telford pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates Court to nine charges relating to Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 1997.

The charges were brought by the Environment Agency under the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations. The court decided that they did not have sufficient sentencing powers to deal with the case and referred it to Shrewsbury Crown Court for sentence.
