Single environmental permit to be introduced next April

A single environmental permit will be introduced under the Environmental Permitting Programme from April 2008, which will combine and streamline the previous waste management licence (WML) and pollution prevention and control (PPC) systems.

The new system is expected to bring a number of benefits, including:
