Regulations amending the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (SDA), which were due to come in to force on 1 October 2007, have been delayed to implement both the EU Gender Directive and aspects of the EU Equal Treatment Amendment Directive.
A High Court judgement has found that the UK's sex discrimination laws do not adequately implement the Equal Treatment Directive and the Government now has to make further amendments to the SDA to address the inadequacies as found in the case of Equal Opportuniti... (276 more words)
