Two construction companies have been fined over £180,000 for serious health and safety offences, following an incident which left a worker paralysed.
Under section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and Regulation 5(1) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Rokbuild Ltd was fined £175,000 plus £26,733 costs at Winchester Crown Court, and RB Contractors were fined £5,000 plus £1,000 costs at the same hearing.
