Facilities managers responsible for sites containing a large number of gas pipes may be interested in press reports that Transco - the company that operates and repairs the network of gas pips across the UK - has lost important records of gas leaks in need of repair. According to the Guardian newspaper, the number of gas leaks waiting to be repaired has doubled in London and Scotland over the last two years.
