This might include office managers, managers of small organisations, administrators, those new to health and safety, or those new to facilities management.
- A thorough understanding of the background to health and safety, including key legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
- Insight into the Regulations that govern staff welfare, the workplace and work equipment. The course examines issues such as temperature, hygiene, ventilation, noise and vibration at work.
- An understanding of how to achieve compliance with the duty to undertake risk assessments under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, while looking at types of risk specific to new and expectant mothers in the workplace, lone and home workers, and young people.
- Guidance on fire, manual handling, display screen equipment and hazardous substances. If there are other issues more relevant to your workplace, the training can be tailored to cover your specific requirements.
- Delegates will be taught the fundamentals of accident prevention and first aid, including the definition of an accident, the principles of accident prevention, and first aid requirements at work.
