Supporting Good Practice in Managing Employment Relations is a two-day classroom course with an element of e-learning. It is a CIPD accredited course which provides an insight into the legal requirements impacting the employment relationship from start to finish.

Participants consider:

  • the external and internal factors impacting the employment relationship;
  • statutory rights and their relation to the terms and conditions of the contract of employment;
  • the importance of policies and procedures in maximising employee performance and their role in defending an Employment Tribunal claim;
  • the elements of an effective disciplinary meeting and the impact of the ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievances;
  • terminating employment within the law with particular emphasis on the redundancy process; and
  • discrimination.

Completing this course will give students six credits towards completing their Certificate in HR Practice or Diploma in HR Practice or Certificate in L&D Practice, or will result in a CIPD Award if completed on its own.
