Partnership approach

When we provide health and safety support, our partnership approach is vital to our ability to deliver results – cutting project completion times; helping you get the most from your own staff and suppliers; and delivering improved efficiency and profitability. We believe personal service is key.

Proven track record

Workplace Law’s health and safety practice has a 17-year heritage of delivering targeted results in our health and safety support, with clients across a number of sectors, including commercial property, facilities management, education, pharmaceutical, defence, aerospace, transport and financial services.

We’ve contributed to the success of a wide range of organisations, including charities and start ups, colleges and universities, local and national government, and some of the UK’s leading private businesses and plcs.

We are members of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and special advisors to the British Institute of Facilities Management on health and safety.

We operate in four practice areas: health and safety support, compliance, strategy, and response. Our services are highly flexible and packages can be customised to meet your particular needs.

Health and safety support

Health and safety support contracts: Take the fear and cost out of health and safety management with an annual contract and customised service levels to deliver year-round health and safety support to your organisation.

Health and safety compliance

CDM Compliance: We act as CDM Coordinator for the UK’s largest commercial property company and have a dedicated team of APS-approved CDM Coordinators who undertake projects nationally. We pride ourselves on our flexible, responsive service.

Safety audits and inspections: Independent analysis of your health and safety management arrangements, with detailed and pragmatic advice on remedial and precautionary measures to improve performance and ensure compliance.

Documentation services: Timely preparation of essential compliance documentation including policies, handbooks, risk assessments and method statements.

Fire risk assessment: Comprehensive fire risk management services, including production of FRAs by qualified fire safety professionals.

Health and safety strategy

Systems development: Development of systems to support compliance and improve competitiveness. We have expertise and experience in helping clients achieve CHAS accreditation and OHSAS 18001 compliance.

Recruitment: Professionally managed permanent and temporary recruitment of health and safety personnel, from administrators and project managers through to senior level appointments.

Interim management solutions: Resourcing qualified safety professionals for project work or to provide short-term cover.

Safety culture: Recognising that the prevailing culture of an organisation is a key determinant in working practices, we work with you sensitively to identify areas for improvement and build a targeted communications programme to improve health and safety performance.

Health and safety response

Post-event investigation:  Our team is able to respond promptly to incidents and accidents, conduct comprehensive accident investigations within tight timelines, and liaise with the enforcing authorities, lawyers and the police in the event of a serious accident.

"By using their expertise and experience Simon and Maria have guided us into developing a health and safety system that has achieved CHAS accreditation and given our customers and principle contractor’s confidence in our management of health and safety. They have always been available to offer advice when needed and to provide independent site inspections and audits which are often required by our customers.

"Both Simon and Maria continue to support Chaps Ltd and have become an important, integral part of our Health and Safety Management System."
