Workplace Law Health and Safety is an established market leader in the provision of information, training, consultancy and support services. We help organisations go beyond compliance in the workplace and build a better future.
We are a corporate member of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM). We are the specialist advisor to the BIFM on employment law, health and safety, and premises management, and specialist advisors to the Facilities Management Association (FMA).
Complying with health and safety law – and looking after the health, safety and welfare of everyone connected with your organisation – can be time-consuming and complicated, diverting precious resources and attention away from your main focus: your core business.
Workplace Law’s health and safety consultants can help, because managing the health and safety of an organisation, like yours, is our core business.
We are committed to achieving excellent results for our clients by realising the benefits of a professional approach to health and safety – a motivated workforce, reduced cost, increased competitiveness, and improved performance.
As every organisation is unique in size, scope, sector and needs we tailor our support to meet your specific requirements.
As health and safety consultants we can either assist your health and safety team, or act as your competent person, as required under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. We offer sensible, pragmatic advice concentrating on practical action to control significant risks – not over-responding to trivial issues.
Experts in our field, our qualified team of safety professionals and health and safety consultants helps organisations take the cost out of compliance, working with you to identify the right solutions for you and your business. Every client, and every solution, is different.
We can offer annual support contracts for peace of mind 365 days a year or we can consult on one-off or on-going projects.
Our health and safety consultants can provide support and advice in a number of keys areas.
CDM compliance
We can assist with the management of all aspects of the CDM Regulations, including contractor competency assessments, the role of the CDM Coordinator, building manuals, design CDM workshops and the development of the Principal Contractor's construction health and safety plans.
OHSAS 18001
BS OHSAS 18001 is the internationally recognised assessment specification for an occupational health and safety management system. It is designed to enable an organisation to control its occupational health and safety risks and improve its performance.
In the first instance, we will carry out a compliance audit and gap analysis of your existing system, including a review of your organisation’s health and safety policies and documentation. This will allow us to compare your current health and safety practices against best practice and relevant standards. This comparison will pinpoint the areas that are working well and those that fall short. For each of our audits we will develop a comprehensive written report, which will provide a clear picture of your performance.
Risk assessments
Our risk assessments documents are not just a survey or a tick box exercise but a comprehensive analysis of a building’s activities, occupants and human behaviour.
A site-specific assessment will be prepared and will also include an action plan, which will give a specific description of any actions, along with a risk rating and suggested timescale for implementation.
Partnership approach
When our health and safety consultants provide you with support, our partnership approach is vital to our ability to deliver results – cutting project completion times; helping you get the most from your own staff and suppliers; and delivering improved efficiency and profitability. We believe personal service is key.
