I understand where you are coming from Diarmuid but in the case of someone being trapped in the back of the car/truck and not able to get out a mobile fire extinguisher could be the means of saving their life. The car would be completly burnt out by the time the fire brigade arrived and the people dead.

Look folks smoking is bad for your health and is costing the HSE a fortune every year dealing with the consequences of it. The money saved from this eventually will make up the difference in the tax revenue. Might even shorten the lines of people in A&E.
In Ireland the social interaction between the sexes has gone up because guys are waiting for a good looking girl to go outside to smoke and are following her to chat her up. Always look on the bright side of life and get on with it. You have been killing us non smokers for liong enough...

Hi, I agree with everything said to date. In your management review if you have used power point presentation and you record the fact that the relivent Managers have been present then you have done your duty in informing Senior Management of their duties under this legislation. This is all you can do. It should be pointed out to them that they hold ultimite responsibility under legislation and if they do not take it seriously then the consequences are their own. I would include a few examples of case study (in UK). Also iunder fiscal legislation Senior managers are responsible for ensuring full compliance to ALL legislation and this includes H&S. Good luck.
