This is a bloody disgrace. Either there was discrimination or there wasn't. Settling out of court is more or less an admission of guilt by the Met. They should hang their heads in shame at not being able to defend this action. As should the officer concerned. Being undermined at your work is not necessarily racial discrimination. If racism is so deeply engrained in the organisation then how did he reach the rank of deputy commisioner in the first place. Being bought off serves no purpose to other officers who are or may be racially discriminated against in the future. Either work to resolve the problem or button it. Both parties are at fault and nothing has been gained from this debacle. This sort of conduct insenses me. RANT OVER.
