Hi James,
It will be interesting to see the website and the actual form to see what actually you meant and how that applies to the current legislation. You certainly got disappointed by the company's online job application form therefore you did not consider applying for the right role, is that correct? If that is the case then I think as an applicant you must have atleast highlighted your concerns to the company or even reported this matter to the http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/Pages/default.aspx

Employers like employees to be under their thumb and work like a clone for them even if they dont admit this is true clearly reflected in their actions against every individual employees who report sick at work due to some health reasons - but on the other hand some employees take advantage of the system for example local General Practitioner help where they can easily obtain sick note - to avoid any further economic crisis after IRAQ WAR the goverment should concentrate on introducing a system and make the culture of obtaining sick note from the local General Practitioner little bit strict.

Even big companies this days being legally representated are mismanage by the managements in my experience all they lack is a little bit care and welfare of the employees by not communicating with them.
