We do not have any radios on our premises and do not encourage our employees to download/play music over the internet, although we do not have any website barring in place to defintely stop anyone from listening on line so in effect if employees wanted to, they could listen online, in this case do we need to have a licence? Also if employees bring in walkman/ipods and listen to music during lunchtime through headphones, am I right in thinking that this would be exempt?

Does anyone know if it is a legal requirement to carry out back to work interviews after an employee has been off sick? And if it is a requirement do they need to be carried out everytime someone has 1 day off with a migraine for example? Is a form sufficient for this purpose detailing attendance at doctor's, medication issued, symptons etc?

All of the courses we send our employees on are useful for use elsewhere, for example, cherrypicker licence, confined spaces certification, NEBOSH etc..... Some are needed legally for our line of work and some are not a necessity but useful in our line of work but are equally as useful to use in other workplaces.. If I do devise some sort of form or document for the employee to sign would he/she be within their rights to refuse to sign if the course is part way through? As far as I am concerned it shows committment on both sides but I am not sure that certain employees would see it that way..

We very often send our employees on expensive training courses, can we ask them to sign some sort of clause to recoup the training costs if they leave the company within a certain time scale? If we can, can this be introduced at any stage of the training course or will it need to be confirmed in writing before the course is booked and paid for?

With regards to company cars that are used solely for the person to whom it is allocated, how will we be able to prove that this is the case? And/or how will the law be able to prove otherwise? It seems to be a very grey area.
