There is nothing worse than having to listen and put up with a colleague - senior or junior membe of staff - who has had a drink and who then attempts to impose their muddled requirements, thoughts, wishes etc on everyone else around.

On a recent training course I along with all the other delegates was advised to retain DSE Assessment for forty (40) years! The reasoning? This is lenght of time that the results of RSI could become known and possible legal action taken against the company(ies) involved.

Yes you do.
I recommend a visit to the NCVO website, in particular http://www.ncvo-vol.org.uk/askncvo/index.asp?id=216.

There is I believe a duty of care for all in a multi user building to cooperate with each other and inform all about the possible impact of their work. The landlord would certainly have to take the lead in everything to do with fire safety. The way forward woul dbe for the landlord to take the lead in all matters relating to H&S and insert in any Licence Agreement a clause dealing with H&S and the requirement for workplace assessments to be carried out and the record of these assessments given to the landlords. The landlord could then act as the responsibile body by disseminating any information felt necessary.

I suggest that it all hinges on whether or not the client has informed his/her staff that they are being monitored and for what purpose.
If this has not been done, it should be.

No national holiday is required. However what is required is that the Government (of whatever political persuation) properly fund the services; and it is not only for front line weapons, but also for the fundamental basic - housing, medical care, a decent salary level when finishing recruit training. Units returning from combat zones should also by matter of right march through their local town instead of disembarking in barracks from buses or 4-tonners.
There will always be tensions between the services and the 'locals' - it has been the same since before Waterloo. What the servicemen and women need is the support of Government. The 'covenant' to be upheld.
You will not be surprised to hear that these issues where doing the rounds when i joined the services in 1963. Nothing changes, and Governments continue to do nothing about the basic problems of bad living conditions and overstretch - no votes in it.

I think this would fail the test in that: "are escape routes clear?" Quite clearly not, even more so if there is a colleague sitting behind desk.
Due to the office move I would have thought your fire risk assessment required an update.

An excellent and well timed statement that should be widely publicised to counter attack all those who are terrified to celebrate any and all religious festivals.

I totally agree with Peter (Hoare). The image for any hairdressing establishment to maintain is surely "class & style" and that can be achieved in a number of different ways - ways which will not be agreeable to all potential customers but that will be their choice.
I am afraid that I can sense prejudices coming through some of the comments made.
