We have had a temporary worker through an agency since January. He has worked 12 weeks so far, followed by two weeks on jury service. He is now back from jury service and working for us again, and we intend to make the employment permanent.
I understand there is a new law that came out in April that means we may not have to pay any agency fee to do this. Is my understanding correct? If so, are there any conditions attached?
I look forward to your response.

Our business involved running tuition courses. For quality control purposes at the end of each course students fill in a review form asking opinion about the course and the standard of tuition. These comments are specific to the tutors, their names are on the forms.
In the past we haven't given tutors access to these forms as some of tutors (particulary newer ones) can take the poorer comments out of context. Under the data protection act should we be giving all tutors access to these forms if they want to see them.

I have an employee who is being made redundant. We have given him the statutory notice period and will pay the required redundancy payments.
The employee is currently looking for a new job, which we are allowing him paid time off to do. He has said that if he finds a job he would like to leave earlier than the date of his statutory notice. We will probably be in agreement with this. He has however said that if he leaves before his statutory notice period he should be paid in lieu of notice. Is this correct as we have given him the correct notice and as a concession to him we have said he may be able to leave early
