I am responsible for our direct labour team for a Housing Association consisting of multy tasking craftsmen. the conclusion of the above sugests that we risk assess all work that not only includes working from height but all day to day tasks. Who assess these? Not wanting a cop out but it imposible for me as their line manager to carry out the assessment.
We ensure that the operatives have all the necessary training that does include risk managment
Are there any other HA's that have similar issues?

I am responsible for providing risk assessments for our Housing Association. We receive weekly requests for compliance with the RRO 2005 Fire Safety. Part of our Action Plan for evacuating a building includes residential Buildings with elderly and frail tenants. The fire and rescue service in our are are unsure if it better to leave tenants in the safety of their flats rather than have the upheval of a fire dril. Also we are required to ensure that we are providing weekly tests on the fire alarm panel, we are unable to comply with this due to the lack of funding and personel. Has anybody else suffered simlar problems? Help

Use of ladders. There are guide lines on how to use ladders, but do?s anyone know of clear guidance on use of ladders as regards painting and decorating. (e.g. what is the max height a painter can work off a ladder etc)?
